Make sure you are using color within two levels of your natural color for best results. For example, I’m naturally a Level 7, so I could go as dark as a level 5 or as light as a level 9 and have it still look natural.

As a friendly reminder, because I get so many emails asking for color advice: as much as I’d love to, I can not help anyone create a custom formula. I’m not a licensed colorist, so I can only share my personal results and formulas with you. Feel feel to try what I’ve used, but definitely reach out to a licensed colorist with those specific questions for your hair. They’ll be way better equipped to help you because they can see your hair, ask what you’ve used as dye in the past, and be able to figure out your best formula! –

Hi! Your hair is beautiful! I have been dying my hair forever at home… usually a medium golden blond but I have been wanting to go strawberry blonde. I watched your wonderful videos and recently used your formula using .5 ounces 8RG + 2 ounces 8G + 5 ounces Level 20 developer. I liked the results and I know it is a process. Next time I’ll add more of the 8RG. I have probably the same amount of gray as you and it comes back quickly! I wondered if you have used Wellas Age beautiful line? It seems they are recommended for those with more gray. Could you recommend a formula for this line or do you think the strawberry blonde in this line will give good results? Thank you for your thoughts and all of your videos! Happy Easter!

Hi Molly
I am in Australia and can not get Color charm. What would recommend as an alternative in their Koleston range. Thanks in advance. Jamie
Thanks Molly! This a perfect formula, I’m getting very similar color to yours. However, my color fades away much quicker, not sure if it’s because my hair is thicker and more coarse than yours. I try to wash it max 3 times a week.
Definitely going to keep using your formula, thanks for sharing!
Hi Molly, just wondering if using your formula/technique on top of home dyed hair would work? I colored my hair at home a couple of weeks ago. Are the timings the same, or would they be different if this is the first time trying your color suggestions?
