If you have been searching for the best clean, organic, and/or eco-friendly eyeshadow singles, look no further! As a makeup artist, performance was always more important to me over anything else and I am happy to say that Kjaer Weis has one of the most beautiful eyeshadow formulas I have ever tried.
The formula contains bamboo, which lends a very silky texture to the powder eyeshadows. I find these to be especially flattering on mature or maturing skin. The effect is soft and reminds me of watercolor.
Kjaer Weis is an organic, luxury makeup brand. They focus on creating a curated, wearable line of flattering colors and textures in their products.
Kristin, the creator, is a professional makeup artist and has thoughtfully created each shade to be true to skin’s undertones and the range is inclusive to all skin tones.
The Kjaer Weis eyeshadows come in either refill packaging that sticks in an empty magnetic palette (my preference) or can be purchased with a signature red or sleek silver weighted container. The refill packaging that the eyeshadow comes in is biodegradable.
I love the sustainability of purchasing refills and only buying the shades I need.
Purchasing individual eyeshadows is more costly up front vs buying a pre-made palette, however I do save money in the long run, because I can just replace shades as needed instead of having to replace a whole palette for one or two shades.
It costs less to purchase the Kjaer Weis refills ($20) vs purchasing them with the KW individual packaging ($40 for eyeshadow and silver metal container).
I also prefer buying the refill option so I can arrange my shadows how I like in a larger magnetic palette and see all the shades at once.
Kjaer Weis’s signature red cardboard packaging is nice if you have a smaller makeup collection and only need a few containers. Their silver containers look especially nice if you store your makeup on a countertop. The hefty weight of silver container also feels nice in your hand while applying, but can get heavy for travel.
I am obsessed with the texture of these eyeshadows.
They are incredibly smooth, thanks to the bamboo in the formula. The finished effect on my lids is so soft and flattering. It’s truly a unique formula and incredibly mature skin friendly.
The shadows are pigmented, blend easily, and layer up to full color with a few pats.
I do prep and set these shadows with an eye primer and a setting spray for best longevity and to prevent creasing.
Every time I wear my KW shadows, I notice the difference in how much softer and more ethereal my makeup looks. I’ve been slowly adding more shades to build out my collection, as I really do prefer this gorgeous formula.
This powder formula is also sensitive skin friendly, it’s very gentle and easy on both my eyes and lids.
I absolutely love the bamboo in this formula. I’ve never heard of an eyeshadow containing this ingredient, genius! I also love that this eyeshadow formula does not contain any coconut or coconut derivative ingredients, which always seem to irritate my skin.
Their eye shadow formula is superior, in my opinion. The finish, smooth texture, sheer-but-even and buildable pigment all add up to a perfect formula.
This brand does have a luxury price point, but I can vouch for them to say they are 100% worth the price and I give them an A+ overall.
I have repurchased the shade Grace, I could not be without it, even with the thousands of other eyeshadows I own. For me, a repurchase is my highest form of compliment to a product.
I have been building up my collection and figuring out which shades work best on my light skin tone and peach undertones.
While I think all the shades are incredibly well-done, my personal favorites are:
