Here are three lip liners that I can always count on! These are great neutral shades with longevity and smooth formulas.
These lip liner formulas really surprised me in that I find better value in these higher end brands because the formulas last longer on me and do not need to be reapplied vs my old staple, the NYX liner in Neutral.
MAC is my perfect natural lip color, the Charlotte Tilbury is a bit more on the light brownish-nude side, and the Makeup by Mario is slightly more of a pink neutral on me. I hope this post helps!

shade: Whirl | $18
MAC Cosmetics is a brand that has launched countless “must-have” shades. For some reason, I’ve just starting to use more MAC products in the past two years and I wished I had started sooner!
Their Whirl lip liner became iconic when Kylie Jenner said it was her favorite lip liner. I always thought it would be a bit too dark for me and it’s actually the perfect taupe-rose-nude liner shade.
This is the only color of liner that I’ve been able to successfully use to over line my lips for a fuller lip look, but keep it looking natural. I’m so impressed with this shade.
It’s become my go-to lip liner shade this past year!
It could last a bit longer, in my opinion, it’s not quite as budge-proof as the CT liner, but it still does last hours.
This is a classic pencil formula, meaning you do need to sharpen it before every use, but the trade-off is that I get the most precise line every time I line my lips.
shade: Iconic Nude + Pillow Talk Medium | $22
This is one of the few lip liner shades and formulas that I have repurchased. I believe I have bought this three times now. The Iconic Nude shade really works well with a variety of nude lipsticks. The Pillow Talk Medium is a rosy deeper nude that is a “my lips” shade.
Charlotte Tilbury’s lip liner formula doesn’t budge. At first, it felt like a bit of an extravagant purchase, but then I realized I only have to touch up once a day (usually after eating), so each pencil lasts me a really long time.
It’s a great no-budge formula that has ended up being a surprisingly good value for me!
shade: Smokey Pink | $22
available online at | sephora
Smokey Pink is another great “my lips” shade that is the most similar shade to MAC Whirl. It’s more of a cool taupe/mauve than a pink.
Mario’s lip liners come with a liner on one end and a brush on the other to help clean up the edges. They also come with a German made (the best) sharpener in the box.
