The Dior Backstage Face + Body foundation launched with 40 shades and has a highly requested light feel. The coverage can be adjusted from light to almost full coverage, so it really suits a variety of preferences. I thought it would be helpful to see some swatches of the shades I looked into for myself, as well as share my thoughts on the foundation.
Spoiler alert: it’s one of my favorite foundations for dry skin and mature or maturing skin.
The Dior Face and Body Foundation comes in a plastic tube with a narrow spout. You squeeze the bottle to get foundation out. It also comes with a cap.
I love this packaging, because it’s shatter proof and very easy to shake keep the foundation well-mixed.
This foundation is very light. I can feel it on my skin, but overall it’s very sheer feeling and easy to wear all day.
I adore the buildable finish. One layer gives gorgeous sheer coverage. You can add two or three more layers as needed in areas to cover redness or spots.
So often, I see people request a foundation that feels light on the skin, adds just enough coverage to even out skin tone, looks nice in photos, all at around a $40 price point. The Dior foundation checks all those boxes and even comes with 1.7 oz of product, which is almost double the standard 1 oz foundation size.
Overall, this foundation is a big winner for me!
I swatched the foundation in-store before deciding to place an online order and am glad I did. The range does run slightly dark.
The one downside that I have found is that this foundation does oxidize, so it does dry a full one to two shades deeper than when I initially apply it. Compared to my Armani Luminous Silk, this is slightly darker once it’s fully dry.
In Armani, I wear shade 4.25 and it’s a perfect match with my peach undertone and light skin tone. With the Dior, I wear shade 1N (1 Neutral). Most neutral undertone foundations have a bit too much pink in the formula for me to wear, but the Dior 1N does seem to run very peachy-yellow.
I swatched shade 2WP (2 Warm Peach) in store and loved the peach undertone, however, it dried so dark on me that even with a faux tan it was still a full shade too deep. I also tried shade 1CR, but that had a lot of pink in the undertone and turned ashy grey on my face.
I have swatched the Dior 1N and Armani 4.25 next to each other below in the swatches, to give you a better idea on the shades. Armani is my perfect match, the Dior is close, with a bit more yellow vs the Armani.

The Dior Face and Body has quickly become one of my most-reached for foundations! It’s light enough for everyday wear, looks beautiful on the skin and in photos and has a great price point, especially from a luxury brand! I will repurchase this foundation.

I mix 0.5N (2 parts) and 2WP (1 part) together. Very pretty light peach.
This combo sounds perfect – genius! I will try it soon, thank you for sharing 🙂
