Friendship Friday: Maddy & The Vampire Diaries

Meet my friend Maddy.  Babe alert, amIright?  Maddy and I met doing comedy in L.A. and have been friends ever since.  She’s an actress, she even shaved her head for her part on Cold Case! And I loved her in “Stick It.”  Which brings us to her Friendship Friday.  Maddy had an audition for The Vampire Diaries and asked for my help getting the look right.

I looked up some pics from the show and texted Maddy to bring her hair extensions – haha!  The women on the show have the longest and most luscious locks.  Def some clip in loving.  Maddy has really long hair (even after shaving her head not that long ago!!) but I wanted to add fullness.

I was very excited.  I love the makeup on the show too.  You can’t really see the makeup but it feels dramatic with very intense eyes.

Maddy has totally different coloring than the show’s lead, Nina Dobrev, so I went with a taupe smokey eye with my Lorac Palette to give Maddy’s eyes the same intense look with shades that fit her complexion.  She also wanted to learn how to clip in her extensions on her own.  Maddy inspired a whole post on that {here.}

Maddy came over and before she even sat down I was spiraling her hair extensions.  Ain’t no party like a Bonus Hair party!  I used a 1″ Hot Tools tapered curling iron and put the extensions to the side to cool while I blew Maddy’s hair dry.  I then spiraled her hair with the same iron.

For Maddy’s makeup:

I moisturized her skin with Mario Badescu Kera Lotion.

After that set in, I used the Sephora Airbrush Perfection foundation in Light, building up the coverage in two thin layers.

Concealer: Amazing Cosmetics in Light Golden.

Blush: Too Faced Sweethearts Blush in Peach Beach.

Contouring: Smashbox Contour Palette.

Eyes: Lorac Pro Palette.

– Crease:  Light Bronze

– Lid: Taupe

– Corners and Liner: Sable

– Under eye: Light Bronze and Sable in a thin line close to the liner

Lips: Stila Lipglaze in Apricot

Eyeliner: L’Oreal Silkissime Eyeliners in Black and Highlighter (on inner corners and down nose)

Lashes: Lorac Pro mascara with three Ardell Individuals, in short, spaced from the center of the eye to the outer corner.  I love individuals.  They add volume without the false lash band line!

Here’s the pic I used to reference the Vampire Diaries look:
