Umm, Hi, my name is ‘Tender” and I’m beautiful. I’m a peach lip gloss and I make friends fast.
I was given this Jouer lip gloss in a giftbag from a party, Thank You, yay! It was a gift but will receive an unbiased review because I have opinions and if me no-likey, it no-goes on the face or blog.
I received the shade “Tender,” a lovely sheer peach shade. I had never heard of Jouer before this party and was definitely excited to try a new brand. My fellow makeup junkies feel me, right? New brand!? Tell me everything.
Jouer says their shades are universally flattering and their makeup is meant to be “no makeup artist required,” meaning everyone can properly apply their makeup. Foolproof, basically. Also, all their packaging is designed to click together if you want it to, so you can create your own palette.
This gloss is on the high-end side at $20. I do think it is worth the price in the actual quality of the product, but also in that it is a lip gloss that I actually reach for on the regular. No sitting unused in a drawer and here’s why:
This is one of the most flattering shades of peach I’ve ever seen. It just looks so stunning on, it really made me reconsider using more peach shades than light pinks. The lip gloss looks darker in the tube, but applies semi-sheer. It has the perfect amount of color and shine.
I think this is the kind of line where you don’t have to buy a million shades and mix them because one is too dark and the other is too light, etc. They do seem to all be shades I’d actually wear on a daily basis and universally flattering colors.
Texture & Taste:
Absolutely no sticky texture here! This gloss just feels smooth on my lips. The gloss also does seem moisturizing on, my lips feel comfortable and I don’t need to reapply often because my lips retain their moisture. It doesn’t have any SPF, though, most glosses don’t, so I do recommend layering it over a balm with SPF if you will be outside all day. I brought it with me for a day trip to Disneyland (SO FUN) but forgot my chapstick with SPF 15 and by the end of the day my lips were a little burnt. Bold move for an Irish kid, forgetting her SPF.
The gloss is also completely tasteless to me, which is a huge win! It doesn’t taste good or bad, it just tastes like nothing, which is very, very much truly nice to me. Yes, all the Yes for no weird tastes.
Longevity & Wear:
I have included photos taken of the lip gloss applied right away and after 30 minutes so you can see the subtle fading and plumping of my lips. The color stays pretty true, it does lighten up some and get sort of blended in and natural looking. I like wearing the gloss alone, not layered over lipstick, to get this pretty and natural look.
I reapply every 2 to 4 hours which is pretty standard for me, because as you might remember from me saying before I am a makeup addict and I need to touch/see/be a part of my makeup every couple of hours to know that everything is alright in this world. Ugh, makeup is so pretty and amazing, right??
Majorly in love. I love this lip gloss and highly recommend it. The universally flattering shades are definitely a huge draw for me and I want to try more products from their line.
What do you guys think? Have you tried Jouer before? Am I the last to know?? Haha. Let me know in the comments below! Hearts and love and good glam vibes!
