Bubble Braid Pigtail Hair Tutorial | Easy + Quick

________

These bubble braid pigtails have become a go-to hairstyle for me.  They are quick and so easy, but look so cool.  Even though I feel past traditional “pigtail” age, there is something about this style that feels really wearable for a range of ages.

I add extensions to make my pigtails longer and add a bit of thickness, but this hair style can be done on almost every hair length.  And as if this style couldn’t get any better, it is a no-heat hairstyle.  No heat means you won’t be using any hot tools, keeping your hair at it’s healthiest!

You Will Need

1 | small invisible or hair colored rubber bands

2 | tail comb

3 | texture spray or cream {favorite cream} {high end spray} {drugstore win}

4 | extensions {www.girlgetglamorousHAIR.com}

5 | hair oil

6 | hair spray

Video Tutorial

Steps from Video

1 | part hair, clip one side up and out of the way

2 | add extensions, using girlgetglamorousHAIR ponytail pack, add 3″ wefts, starting at ear level.

3 | tease for volume at crown

4 | create low ponytail on first side

5 | wrap hair around elastic and tuck end of hair through elastic to hide the band

6 | 2-3 inches from first band, add another band to create your first bubble

7 | add texture cream or spray to the pony to add grip

8 | holding your hair at the bottom of the band, start to pull pieces of hair inside the bubble up and out to create volume

9 | repeat to add as many bubbles to your hair as you’d like

10 | repeat on second side

11 | pull some small pieces out around the front of your face

12 | lightly spray with hair spray to set the front pieces and bubble pigtails

Tips

The smoothness of your bubbles depends on if your hair is one length or layered.  My hair is layered, so my bubbles have a few more stray pieces.  If you hair is one length, you will get super smooth looking bubbles.

If you have layered hair and want smooth bubbles, space your bubbles closer together, 1-2″ down, instead of 2-3″.  The shorter spacing lets less hair escape and keeps the look sleeker.

I prefer a more loose and bohemian look, so I like the stray pieces.  I also think pulling out some hair around the face adds to the “undone” look of the hairstyle.
