Hi and welcome to GirlGetGlamorous! I did a full review of Armani Luminous Silk foundation before in this blog post, but wanted to share some more swatches with you.
I decided to invest in a few more shades for my makeup artist kit. I love how the foundation looks on almost every skin type, so I knew it was time to splurge and add some of these to my pro kit for clients.
For this order, I picked up another bottle of shade 4.25 (my personal shade) and shades 4.5, 5, and 5.5. The Luminous Silk foundation comes in a frosted glass container which makes the shades look very similar in the bottle, but you can see how much these shades vary in the cheek swatches below.

I've been using drugstore makeup (concealer, foundation, powder) for 25 or so years but now that I'm 41 I need to up my game. I recently upped it to Clinique Even Better. I dont feel comfortable leaving the house without makeup and powder to set it but the powder makes my skin look dry. Does the Armani Luminous Silk require a powder to set it or can you recommend another medium to full coverage foundation for my aging skin? Thanks for your time!
Hi Jamie! Have you tried setting spray to set your makeup? You can use this on it's own or over powder to soften the "powdery" look. I do find that the Armani dries down really well. I do still set it in my t-zone with both a little setting spray and powder. It's one of my go-to foundations because I do really love the finish. I hope this helps!

I’ve been using 4.5 in armani luminous but it seems to be a bit too pale. Thinking to go a tiny bit darker (but not pink ). Any suggestions?

Have you tried 5 (light, neutral) or 5.2 (light, peach)? They might work to be a bit darker, but still right undertone. Here is the link | https://rstyle.me/+t80eDHr93O79iglTXneBcA

I tried 5.2 (a bit too peach) and 5.25 (definitely too pink).
I was looking at the colours and was undecided between 3.5 and 5. I’ll go with your recommendation!

@Molly Gardner, i current have the 4.5 but found it a bit too dark and through research on your website it seems that 5 is actually lighter. Sephora rep also said the text description for 5 is light and for 4.5 is light to medium which is super strange!! Would you help confirm 5 looks lighter than 4.5? Or is it that 4.5 oxidizes more? I have been using shade 5 and received compliments that it was bang on. But in natural light I have noticed that it looks peach/light orange on my skin. I have been unable to get samples to swatch, and in store lighting at Sephora does not help. Unfortunately I stocked up during the Sephora sale and am now stuck. Any recommendations? Or a shade recommendation? I love the finish of the product.
