In this post, we’ll go over ten products from indie beauty brands that were game changers for me. It’s fun to test out and discover new beauty from brands you might not have heard of yet.

Here are all the products that have genuinely made my beauty routine better and become staples for me. Many of these items I have repurchased, which is rare for me, as I’m usually trying something new. Let me know if you try any for yourself or as a gift to a fellow beauty lover!

1 | ZIIP Halo (skincare)

What to Try | The ZIIP Halo skincare device and Silver Gel are my personal favorites.

Why | I’ve been using this device now for seven years (!) and it’s the one skincare device that I’ve stayed consistent with. It’s easy to use and gives me great results.

My skin glows, my face is lifted, and I especially love the jowls treatment as I’ve gotten older. The jowls treatment is like turning back time.

It’s been a complete game changer for me and I can’t imagine being without this skincare tool.

2 | Surratt Beauty (makeup)

What to Try | powders, concealers, foundations, lash curler, and brushes

Why | Surratt Beauty uses a unique Japanese “slurring” technique for their powder products, so that they retain a fluffier texture vs a traditional pressed pwder. This creates a really sheer, but even, veil of color to be picked up on your brush.

The sheerness of the pigment has a very high end finish on the skin. It doesn’t look like a traditional powder, it almost has the finish of a watercolor.

The Surratt stick concealer is another favorite of mine, along with their dew drop concealer and foundation. All are seamless on the skin, the coverage is flawless. I can’t say enough nice things about their complexion products.

You will never feel softer or better quality brushes than the Surratt brushes, but I will say, be ready to invest here, because these are the type and price tag of brushes you care for well and make them last a lifetime.

Overall, Surratt Beauty is an extremely high quality brand, with great products in every category.

Surratt gave me a discount code for you, it’s MOLLY15 and will save you 15% at checkout with this link.

3 | Lord & Berry (makeup)

What to Try | any of their pencil products

Why | I have never met a Lord & Berry pencil that I didn’t use down to the stub! Every single liner I’ve gotten from this brand has been consistently wonderful quality from the first use until it could no longer be sharpened.

I was introduced to this brand via a monthly makeup subscription box (remember those!?) They are a more well known brand in the UK, but are still gaining traction in the US.

The Lord & Berry eyeliner formulas are impressive. They are gentle on my eyes, creamy, richly pigmented, easy to sharpen, and the color wears well throughout the day. I do wish they’d bring back the bronze shades!

I recently picked up a lip liner pencil and love that formula as much as their eye pencils. I also love their sheer lipstick formula in the shade Sweet Talk, it’s a soft rose pink and so pretty on. It’s has been a staple of mine for the last year.

4 | Evolve Together (skincare)

What to Try | Natural Deodorant, hand cream

Why | I am not kidding you when I say the Evolve Together deodorant in Taormina could be a perfume. The scent is gorgeous, refined, and the deodorant works.

I just got the travel sizes to try all four scents and I also love the rose scent, but the Taormina is still my favorite. It has a fresh scent of blood oranges and smells like a weekend at the water in Italy as the weather gets warmer.

I found the hand cream to be very high quality as well, it has made my hands soft and sinks in quickly without any residue.

5 | Jillian Dempsey (makeup + grooming)

What to Try | lip glosses

Why | This is the first lipgloss I have tried that is truly as hydrating as a good lip balm. The formula is thick and cushiony on the lips (my preference) but not sticky at all.

My favorite shade, Bubble Pink, took me by surprise as I usually go for a more mauve toned or clear gloss. These are a perfect lip gloss formula and perfect shades.

Honorable mentions: her “Mixturizer” primer and concealers

6 | Queen Musia (makeup)

What to Try | Lipsticks

Why | I am convinced that Queen Musia has made the world’s most perfect lipstick. Their formula glides on smooth, has the perfect amount of pigment, and lasts hours and hours without a touch up needed. It feels light and doesn’t move or bleed outside where it was applied.

Because the pigment is so well balanced, just one to two swipes completely covers my lips. I am still on both of my first tubes of these lipstick shades (from May 2024), because I’m not wasting product by touching up my lipstick all day.

“Becky Sharp” is the perfect shade to slightly deepen and brighten my natural lip color. It’s my everyday lipstick and my most used lipstick color from my entire collection. Montreux is the other shade that I have and it’s a very wearable red/coral shade. One of the first red shades that I’ve felt is “soft,” if that makes sense.

The only downside to the Queen Musia lipsticks is that have an initial old school “lipstick” waxy smell, but it does fade and I can get past that because in every other way, these are truly perfect lipsticks.

Also of note, the packaging is unique and stunning. The cap stays firmly closed in my purse.

7 | Londontown (nails)

What to Try | Top + Base Coats

Why | These are the only base and top coats I will use on my nails (seriously). I use the Nail Hardener & Base Coat and Gel Genius Top Coat.

The base coat sets up my polish for success and makes my nails stronger. Then the Gel Genius top coat makes my nails SO shiny and usually keeps my manicure solid for at least seven days. I’ve never had results that both look and last like these with other traditional nail polish brands.

I also love the Londontown gel top and base coats that require a LED curing lamp. I don’t know how they’ve done it, but all of their prep and seal products are fantastic.

The only products that haven’t worked well for me are the actual nail polishes and the Perfecting Nail Veils, which i think just comes down to a personal reaction to one of the ingredients.

Everything else I’ve tried I love, including the cuticle oil and the unique Probiotic Nail booster for bare nails. But to me, the products I can not live without are the base and top coats.

8 | Experiment (skincare)

What to Try | Super Saturated Glycerin Serum

Why | Glycerin was an ingredient I was aware of, but not invested in, if that makes sense. It always felt lower in the list of importance, but this serum changed my mind.

I have drier skin and this plumped my fine lines and made my skin glow. After a week of using this high level glycerin serum, my skin had such a dewy look to it that I actually started getting messages from people on Instagram asking me about the skin glow.

9 | Anablue (hair)

What to Try | Treatment Oil and Hair Serum

Why | My hair went from crunchy straw to silky, healthy hair, overnight. The hair oil is meant for the scalp, but I actually prefer it as a treatment on my ends. I’ve tried countless hair oils and this one is my favorite. It’s smooth and hydrating, but without that too slick feeling that some oils can have. It really sinks in and gets to work repairing my hair.

The serum is a bit lighter, which is nice for fine hair and for styling. I use this in the middle and ends of my hair before blow drying and get really silky blowouts.

Anablue gave me a discount code for you, it’s MOLLY-15 and will save you 15% at checkout with this link.

10 | Luna Daily (body care)

What to Try | the spray-to-wipe

Why | This will change your day-to-day life. It cleans you after using the restroom and truly is gentle on sensitive areas. I initially thought this product was going to be gimmicky, but after one use my mind was changed.

You spray into your toilet paper and it makes any dry paper into a wet wipe, with probiotics for hygiene and health.

I leave one in my home bathroom and a travel spray in my carry on travel bag. It’s not only a unique product, but very well done. The formulas are gentle and so effective that, in my experience, once you start using this spray, you won’t want to be without a bottle.
