I am a big fan of Julep nail polishes. They don’t have a lot of junk in them, most importantly they are “toxin free” and don’t contain and formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, or DBP. The company also donates a portion of their profits to organizations that support women.
I have found that most of my Julep nail polishes last 4 to 5 days without chipping. The only exception being that a few of the Julep polish colors (mostly the opaques) come out of the tube too thick, and are very difficult to get thin, smooth coats out of. Those tend to chip after a day or so on me. I’ve noticed a few other bloggers that had similar problems. For the most part though, my Julep polishes have been very smooth, easy to apply, and chip resistant for up to a week. The Freedom Polymer topcoat can make them last up to a week and a half without chipping.
Audrey is my absolute favorite color I’ve purchased from Julep, $14 regularly, on sale for $8. Dare I say it’s one of my all-time favorite colors. It is a soft, shimmery pink. Whenever I put it on, the shimmer reminds me of a mermaid tail, if a mermaid tail were pink. All of my friends whose nails I’ve painted that I have used Audrey on have had to listen to me say that. Mercifully, they all were polite and just nodded and smiled at me. Good friends. Also, if you hang out with me, I’ll probably give you a manicure. You know, just like all adult women friends that hang out together. No? You guys just have wine? Noted.
I think Audrey looks best with two thin coats. A third coat made it look too “young” “Pagent-y” “bubble-gummy,” I don’t know the word I’m looking for but three is too many and two coats is just right for this shade.
It’s so lovely on, I highly recommend this gorgeous shimmery pink shade!
Stay Glam!

I’m torn between Julep’s Audrey and Lois at the moment. Do you have experience with the latter?
Hi there! I haven’t tried Lois, but from what I can see looking at swatches of it, it seems to be more of a metallic finish whereas the Audrey is a shimmery, mermaid-y, micro glitter. I hope this helps!
I am with you on the manicure thing…my friends are my nail art guinea pigs!
