A couple of months ago I saw the most beautiful lip combo on Pinterest. It was Revlon Colorburst lipstick in Soft Nude and Super Lustrous lip gloss in Peach Petal.
I am not huge on nude lips, because I think sometimes they can look way too pale, but this combo seemed perfect because the peach gloss would give the nude lipstick the perfect color boost. Also, the combo would be under $20. That’s a first class ticket to Deal City.
So this little lady took herself on a shopping trip. I went to Target. Nothing there. I went to CVS. Again, they didn’t have these shades. I stood baffled, silent, and confused, until the 16-year-old associate at CVS asked me if everything was okay. I asked about the Revlon lip shades and she told me they didn’t make those shades anymore.
WWWWWHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!??
I let myself have a great pity party for five seconds and then I took action. I found a new combo that I’m obsessed with.
1. Lip liner: Milani in shade “Nude”
2. Lipstick: Revlon Super Lustrous, shade #001, “Nude Attitude, Matte”
3. Lipgloss: Revlon Colorburst, shade #042, “Bellini”
After using the liner and one light coat of lipstick, I dabbed the gloss in the center of my lips and worked it out with my finger to smooth it out.

I love a nude lip and have tried multiple combinations to try to make it happen. Thank you for unlocking the mystery! However, I will still use my Mac Spice pencil as a liner because I like my liner to be darker than my lipstick because it's the only way I can prove that I'm Latina. Thank youuuuu!!!!

I went to the drug store, Ulta, Target... couldn't find all of the items. So I backtracked and improvised, looking at the photos here while shopping. Thought I'd share! Rimmel makes a lip liner called Natural that may or may not match the Ulta In the Nude. There was no In The Nude. I couldn't find Nude Attitude Matte, either. It was sold out at CVS and Ulta and Target in Weho doesn't carry the matte colors. The closest thing I could find was ELF matte lip color in Nearly Nude. Bellini gloss I was able to find. So I did it up and my neighbor came by, who happens to be a hot shit make up artist. She said, "Oh my God! Your lips look fabulous!" ELF matte lip colors are only $3. I actually like their stuff and wish they'd expand their line. Anyway, just wanted to let you know about these alternatives! I wanted to take a picture but I don't think I can upload it here. Just so you know, when I go make up shopping I pull up blog posts to make sure I'm buying the right colors and brands listed on the blog. :)
