One of my favorite meditations from Deepka Chopra, MY MAN, talks about finding luxury every day. He explains that it doesn’t have to be luxury in the way we tend to think of it, but rather what small moments can we indulge in that are beyond our basic needs for living?
For me, that’s rose water sprays. There is no greater simple luxury than a spritz of these amazing sprays mid-day. In the summer, you can keep them in the fridge for an extra cold spritz.
The scent is so fresh, yet also makes me nostalgic. I love the scent of roses and I have a strong sense that I’m not the only human who feels this way.
Anyone who has worked with me as a makeup artist knows that I keep a bottle in my bag. I always spritz myself and the models mid-day. Small luxuries, my friends, small luxuries.
Rose water sprays refresh your makeup so that it doesn’t become cakey or dry looking. I also love to use them when I’m bare faced, I really feel like they help my skin stay hydrated. Especially during the cooler months with the heater on, these help prevent my skin from drying out. I notice a difference in how hydrated my skin looks within a week of regular use.
Rose water sprays are also said to help set makeup and make it last longer, but to be honest, I haven’t noticed that. For me I primarily love how they refresh makeup mid-day and keep my skin hydrated.
My three favorite brands of this spray are: Trilogy, PurErb, and Mario Badescu.
Mario Badescu | Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, + Rosewater | 4 oz for $7
This is the least expensive out of the three. I keep a giant size of this in my makeup bag and spritz is quite liberally on myself and anyone within arms distance all day long. I love the scent but have noticed it’s the heaviest formula out of the three. Not a deal-breaker at all, they are all still refreshing, I just noticed this one feels slightly heavier on my skin.
Trilogy | Hydrating Mist Toner | 3.3 oz for $24
I keep this bottle in my fridge and it’s just a straight up delight when I spray it mid-day. I feel like this mist really hydrates, but is also still light. It’s a lovely smelling combination of rose, geranium, and lavender. The formula is very pure, great for someone wanting to use more all natural beauty products.

I love Jurlique's Rosewater Balancing Mist! I keep it on my desk and when everything is overwhelming a quick spritz makes everything sweet and okay again :)
Right!? Rosewater sprays just take the stress away, I swear! I will have to try the Jurlique next, thanks for the recommendation!
