This past Sunday I had the pleasure of sitting down with Lisa Sundstedt, the creator of Pretty, Funny Women, the longest running all female comedy show in the U.S. Lisa used to be my stand up coach and now I am lucky enough to call her a friend.
We had a ton of laughs filming a beauty related episode of her web series.
I shall walk you through the day.
8:45 a.m: Woke up excited because I had a new curling iron to try today. It’s the big things in life.
9:15: Post shower I remembered I was also trying a new primer + foundation combination and just about lost my mind. How could one day already contain so much good?
10 a.m.: Saw that I had half of a veggie quesadilla from Petty Cash Taquiera left in the fridge. Should I call it now as one of the best days of my life? I reheated it in the oven, then put the cold arugula back on top of it. Petty Cash does Mexican food right.
10:36: Weave was popping and foundation and primer combo was slaying it for me. This was a good makeup/hair day. The night before I had also taken the time to lay my makeup DOWN, but forgot to take a gosh darn photo of it, so I created this meme instead. The struggle is real
11: Put on my favorite rose-colored Vince silk shirt that I got at a sample sale for $18. Later, I got salad dressing on the front and almost cried real shallow tears, then remembered the miracles of dry cleaning. Fingers crossed.
11:11: Screen shot-ed 11:11 on my phone. Make a wish!
11:15: Packed up my car, because I had a makeup appointment after filming. Seriously, what an awesome day.
11:30: Spent 15 minutes just staring around my apartment, terrified I forgot to pack something super important. Reminded myself how amazing deep breaths are. Left for Lisa’s.
12:15 p.m.: Arrived at Lisa’s and pretty much just laughed for the next hour straight while we talked and filmed.
1:15: Quick trip to Naimie’s Beauty Supply to pick up more individual lashes for my client’s appointment. Remembered that I’ve been wanting to film a tutorial on individual lashes since July. Didn’t get too down on myself because we’ve had three heat waves.
2:30: Arrived at client’s for makeup session. She never wears makeup, but had to get her photo taken for a charity event. She said she felt polished and still like herself. She loved that I listened to her makeup request for natural looking makeup. I love doing makeup for people.
6:30: Sushi dinner at Sugarfish with 5 of my girlfriends and got to meet my friend’s amazing mom who I’d been wanting to meet forever. I loved today.
