Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick The Buffs | Nude Lipstick Shades for Everyone

Whoever creates the limited edition sets for Maybelline is a genius.  An absolute, its-done-right-every-single-time genius.

There is a reason they always sell out.  No awkward lingering on a side shelf at the drugstore for their limited edition lines.  Maybelline’s latest limited edition line, which is rumored to become a permanent extension of their colorsensational lipstick colors, is called “The Buffs.”

The Buffs is a range of “nude” and neutral lipsticks designed for a range of skin tones.  This reminds me of Christian Louboutin’s “The Nudes” heels which are the first range of heels to match a larger range of skin colors.  Except these lipsticks are only $8, instead of one month’s rent.  Ha!

I’ve written before in more detail about Maybelline Colorsensational lipsticks {here}.  Their formula for this lipstick is amazing, I’m so glad they are expanding their range.  “The Buffs” has shades for the palest tones, fair, olive and deeper skin.

“The Buffs” shades are:

910: Bare All – lightest shade

915: Blushing Beige – light shade with a pink tint

920:  Nude Lust –  true light neutral

925: Maple Kiss – caramel

930: Truffle Tease – medium nude with caramel tones

935: Sin-A-Mon – true medium neutral

940: Touchable Taupe – tint of brown

945: Stormy Sahara – medium caramel

950: Untainted Spice – deeper taupe brown

955: Expresso Exposed – darkest shade, brown with a hint of raisin

I purchased Blushing Beige and Nude Lust.  They look similiar in the package, but when you have them on the pink tones make the Blushing Beige brighter and a bit lighter on me than the Nude Lust.

GUESS WHO FOUND MORE SHADES!  Yep, this beauty weirdo!  I found a two more shades at CVS this weekend, Stormy Sahara and Truffle Tease.

Ok, to be honest, I thought that on me, the lighter (Nude Lust & Blushing Beige) shades made me look a little too washed out, but the medium shades (Stormy Sahara & Truffle Tease) were slightly too brown.  So I started layering them and LOVED the results.  I did two swipes of the lighter shade first, then two swipes of the darker shade on top.  Here are the pics:
