Boxycharm January + February 2015 Unboxings

Whoop, whoop!  I love a good unboxing.  There is just something about looking at new makeup, mine or someone else’s that makes my heart do that pitter-pat.

Quick refresher or if you are new to the blog: Boxycharm is a makeup subcription box service.  It’s $21 a month, including shipping for 4 to 5 full or deluxe size products.  The products are generally full sized.

January’s box:

I loved the Tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum!  Once a week I spread (quickly) a few drops over my face and chest and *voila* several hours later, I am no longer see-through.  It gives a nice, natural (non-orange) glow, which is GOLD MONEY MONEY for this pale kid.

I thought the Pur-lisse tattoos would fun on my nails to add a pop of gold, somewhat subtle nail art.  You can cut up Flash Tattoos however you want to make them fit anywhere, so I tried them on my nails and was really happy.  All temporary tattoos do come off when they come into contact with oil, however, so mine came off sort of quickly because I dose myself in 10 different hair and face oils every morning and night.

The Beaty For Real lip colors are really pretty and will work nicely when I have more of a tan or on my medium skin tone clients.  They are beautiful rose shades.  The lip pencil is such a perfect natural shade and the lip cream was very hydrating.  Also, the cap has a switch to make it light up and a mirror on one side, I feel very much like a cool spy while using it.

I still need to try the Mirabelle face primer, but I do like their products!

Pur-lisse Flash Tattoos used at nail art.

February’s Box:

So far I’m loving the Modern Minerals eye brush.  It’s just stiff enough to apply darker shades in the outer corners of my eyes but also soft enough to blend into the crease.

The Mistura Beauty complexion corrector is very, very creamy and sets nicely!  It arrived broken (I think being in the same box with two mini glass bottles might have done that) but I put it back in the container and have just been using a concealer brush to apply it.  I’m very impressed with the coverage.

The Jing Ai lip pencil is very hydrating!  The color is slightly too pink for me, because I just went more red with my hair, but I will definitely be adding it to my makeup kit, because I think the quality would be beautiful for my clients.

Very excited to try the NCLA hearts polish and the Mullein & Sparrow mask.  Although the mask is packaged so nicely I almost don’t want to disturb it at all!!
