Boxycharm Unboxings | June | July | August

There is nothing I love more than makeup mail.  Life got a little hectic these past few months though, so I’m going to do these three Boxycharm unboxings all in one post.

Which I actually love, because now I can say what I’ve actually been using from each box.  Which to me shows the actual value of a subscription box.  You might not use or love every single item, but the ones you do usually still end up being worth more than the subscription price.

Boxycharm is a $21-a-month beauty subscription box.  Each box contains at least 4-5 full size items.  I’ve been a subscriber for over two years now.

June’s Box | Girl’s Just Wanna Have Sun

1 | Cougar Beauty, Mineral Face + Body Shimmer, $16 retail.  I have been mixing a bit of this highlighting powder in with my body lotion for a little shimmer.

2 | Farmacy, Coconut Gel Mask Medley (3 pack), $24 retail.  I have yet to try these, but they look great and I just saw that the brand is now in Sephora, that’s a huge deal!

3 | Girlactik, Precise Eyeliner Marker, $20 retail.  I have been using this liner a lot and love how skinny the tip is.  It makes it super easy for a precise cat eye.

4 | LVK, Nail Laquer, $18 retail.  I love this brand of polish but haven’t done a full mani with it yet.  The color is so cool and unique, I want to use it for some nail art manicures.  It’s a 5-chemical free formula and vegan.

5 | Ofra, Oil Control Pressed Powder, retail $39.95.  I’ve used this a few times now and it’s great, but you do need to be careful not too use too much or it can make your skin a bit white.  It does work at blotting oil.

July’s Box | Modern Mermaid

1 |  OFRA, Professional Magnetic Palette + 6 eye shadows (normally $10 each), $59 retail.  This was by far one of my most favorite things I’ve ever gotten in any subscription box.  I’m a HUGE fan of magnetic refillable palettes.  They can save you so much money if you purchase refill only pans of makeup, save a ton of space, and you can build a custom colored palette perfect for your complexion.  They are great for travel too.  I’m just obsessed.  I normally pay $20 for the Z Palette, so getting this one in the box was a major score.  The shadows are pretty also, but I haven’t played with them too much yet.

2 | Mally Beauty, Rounded Blender Brush, $15 retail.  I kind of wanted the turquoise liner that was the other option to get in the box.  But with sub boxes, you get what you get and you don’t get upset, ha!  The brush is nice, but I really wanted to play around with that blue liner.

3 | Noyah, Lip Gloss, $16 retail.  A natural ingredient list product, no junk.  The color is a pretty berry shade, wears comfortably, and isn’t sticky.  I love that the packaging and lip gloss wand top is all made from earth-friendly bamboo with pretty flowers on the handle.  I want to checkout more from this brand.

4 | PYT HAIR, Oil Treatment, $30 retail.  I like the woodsy smell of this oil and will be trying it more when my Agave Oil runs out.

August’s Box | Express Yourself

1 | Coastal Scents, Blush + Bronzer Palette + Brush, $19.95 retail.  The matte bronzer shade in this is very pretty and the brush is actually quite soft.  I have been using the bronzers a lot.  I think I might try to pop them out and add them to the magnetic palette from last month’s box.

2 | Aloette, Time Repair Serum, $48 retail.  This serum actually works!  I’ve been using it for a few nights now and so far, so good.  It actually seems like it is refining my pores.  The texture is lightweight and not sticky.  Really love it!

3 | Dirty Little Secret, Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in Phantom, $10 retail.  The color is gorgeous and I like how lightweight the formula is.

4 | Doucce Cosmetics, Maxlash Volumizer Mascara, $22.  LOVE this mascara, but wish it didn’t have parabens in the ingredients, because it’s such a great product.  The formula is so light and makes my lashes miles long, never clumps, and doesn’t flake.  Great mascara, and I’ll continue to use it, it just won’t be daily use for me because of parabens.

5 | Beauty For Real, Shadow Stx in Midnight Marathon, $19 retail.  This product is on it’s way to being one of my favorite products of all-time.  It’s paraben and cruelty free.  The formula gives you about 15 seconds to blend and then it sets until you wash it off.  Seriously.  No creasing or crumbling.  It’s waterproof and just sticks.  It makes my blue eyes pop.  I am obsessed with this formula and the color.  I’ve been wearing it almost daily since this box came.   OBSESSED!!!  I have tried these cream sticks before from other brands and felt very “meh,” but this one actually stays in place all day with the least bit of smudging or fading.

I found out they have an authentic Amazon store and plan on keeping this shade in my makeup kit for a long time, as well as trying their other shades.

This is the reason I love subscription boxes.  I had never heard of this brand before Boxycharm, but tried their highlighter in a past box and now this shadow stick.  This brand is awesome and I hope they blow up and get the recognition they deserve!
