Ardency Inn is a new brand (at least to me). I came across it on one of my all too familiar jaunts to Sephora. New Makeup from a New Brand?? I needed one of those Victorian fainting couches. Sadly, Sephora only has a cash register.
The long play lipstick stood out to me. The red looked gorgeous. It retails for $25 for a full size, .12 oz tube.
The packaging really stood out to me. The design is black and white and very sleek. The lipstick case is sturdy feeling in your hand and has a magnetic closure. I like the magnet feature, I think it’ll prevent a cap coming off in my makeup bag and ruining my bag and the lipstick. Also, the metal tube is nice, because unlike a plastic tube, it won’t crack if you keep it in your purse. I swear I’m not carrying around a wrench set or anything like that in my purse, but sometimes those plastic tubes just won’t hold up!
I purchased this lipstick in “Lovecat.” On the Sephora website it’s listed as “a deep red with teeth whitening blue undertones.” Listing the undertones was a selling point for me. I’m always trying to find a blue based red lipstick, but it usually feels like a guessing game. I like that Ardency Inn spells it out for us. The say on each of their lip color shades if it has warm or blue undertones.
When I first took it out of the package, the shade looked almost too dark of a red. But on the lips? Oh my. Stunning. The red contrasted against skin is just so beautiful. Absolutely a new favorite shade.
This lip color is billed as long wearing and non-transferring. For me, it does last longer than any other lipstick I own. I don’t even have to use a primer with it and do not have to touch it up with me when I go out for the night. I feel asleep with it on one night and woke up with it all in place. It does have some slight transfer when drinking. A small amount did come off on my pillow the night I feel asleep with it on, but I expected it to be much, much worse. I did have to reapply to the center of my lips after eating. This stuff really does stay on longer than any other lipstick I’ve tried!
The lipstick didn’t have any taste or smell to me. The texture is so creamy, it feels like you are wearing a lip balm. My lips weren’t dry at all when I woke up with it on. It’s impressive that this lipstick can be so creamy & hydrating, but also not come off easily.
I’m so, so impressed with this lipstick. I will definitely be repurchasing when I need it and getting more shades. It is on the pricier side for me, but to not have to reapply all night long is a huge selling point. I love makeup that you can put on and not think about again, but have never found that before in a lipstick. It’s long wearing and truly not drying. Ardency Inn lipstick is a winner!
