The 7 Best Hand Creams, Body Lotions, + Face Oils For Dry Skin

If you are looking for the best lotion for your dry hands, you’ve come to the right post!  I wanted to share my go-to hand creams, body lotions, and face oils that have worked on my dry skin over the past few years.

I grew up in Upstate New York and during the winters there my skin would get so dry that my hands would actually crack open in spots!  I wish I knew about these skin-saving hand creams and lotions then.

Here are my top seven hand and body products to help dry, cracked skin.

FAVORITE HAND CREAMS + BODY LOTIONS

1 | Ahava Mineral Body Lotion

  • Purpose | Body Lotion (and light weight hand cream)
  • Price | $29 for 8.5 oz and $56 for 24 oz (limited edition triple size
  • Packaging | Plastic bottle with pump

One of my favorite body lotions is this lightweight -yet- hydrating lotion from Ahava.  The lotion is fairly scentless, so it doesn’t interfere with my perfume.

As far as texture goes, this is a lighter weight products and, again, this lotion sinks almost immediately. It’s just the right amount of hydration for my skin.  It never gets to sweaty during the day when I start moving around.  The finish is nice and dry to the touch.

It’s honestly the perfect body lotion.  It’s a bit pricier, but both Ulta and Ahava run specials all the time for it.  I also have to remind myself that I need to treat the skin on my body as well as I treat the skin on my face, neck, and chest.

My skin looks so healthy when I use this.

2 | Skinfix Eczema+ Hand Repair Cream

Purpose | Hand Cream

Price | $18 for 3 oz

Packaging | plastic squeeze tube with flip top

Purchase Online at | Sephora

As a makeup artist, I end up washing my hands anywhere from 10-25 times a day while I’m working.  I put makeup on the back on my hand first and apply to client’s skin from there (you get more control over the product this way) so I also end up swiping the back of my hand with a makeup wipe another 40 times a day.

My poor hands are r.o.u.g.h. after a day of this, so I really try to baby them.

Hands down (SEE WHAT I DID THERE) the best hand cream for super dry, almost cracked hands is the skinfix Hand Repair Cream.

It’s non-greasy, which is factor #1 for me with a hand cream.  This sinks in right away and is a work horse.  My hands go from crepey and dry and painful to totally moisturized in under a minute.

One of the most effective hand creams I have ever used and an amazing price.

This cream is unscented.

| Deborah Lippmann Rich Girl Hand Cream

Purpose| Hand Cream

Price | $28 for 3 oz. (DEAL – $29 for TWO!)

Packaging | plastic squeeze tube with spin open top

Purchase Online at | NordstromSephora

Next up, another favorite for sunny days and driving, is the Deborah Lippmann Rich Girl SPF 25 hand cream.  This has broad spectrum SPF 25 and anti-aging ingredients.

I typically don’t notice a huge anti-aging benefit right away, but within a month of using this hand cream daily, I noticed my hands were definitely looking smoother and brighter.  It was quite the visual difference and very impressive.

I like the SPF, it’s great if you drive a lot or are outside running errands every day.  Also great: the cream sinks in immediately (a must for me obviously) so you can apply and go.

The scent is so light and pretty, it reminds me of those white flower trees that only bloom for a month in the spring in Los Angeles.

4 | Aveeno Sheer Hydration Body Lotion

Purpose | Body Lotion

Price | $8.00 for 18 oz

Packaging | Plastic bottle with pump

Purchase Online at | AmazonTarget

To be honest, I haven’t used this lotion as much since I bought the Ahava Mineral lotion mentioned above.  But when I did use this lightweight lotion from Aveeno, I was so pleased with it.

In sinks in right away, my must have in any skin product, and feels great.  The lightweight version is a must, I love my body products feeling almost invisible.

This is also a great deal, $8 for 18 oz!!  Drugstore win.  The only downside is that it’s actually kind of hard to find in stores, but readily available on Amazon.

| Derma E Vitamin E Cream

Purpose | Body Cream

Price | $11 for 4 oz

Packaging | plastic tub

Purchase Online at | Amazon

This is my go-to cream for spot treatments and my elbows and heels, my driest areas.

I swear, as soon as I get a little dry patch, I rub some of this cream into the spot and consider it done.  This cream handles it.

The texture is a lighter weight cream.  It is slightly “greasier” finish, so I don’t use it all over.  But for your driest areas, this is incredible.

6 | The Ordinary Rosehip Oil

Purpose | Oil

Price | $9.80 for 1 oz

Packaging |  Glass with dropper

Purchase Online at | SephoraBeautylish

Sometimes I have to cut straight to the oils.  I’ve noticed the skin especially around my neck needs oil during the winter months, or else is gets really crepe-y and dry.  This oil is really affordable so I can slather it all over my face neck, chest, hands, elbows, etc.

Not going to lie, the smell is a bit rough.  I didn’t realize rosehip oil has such a distinct scent.  But if you can make it past an “earthy” scent, it really helps my skin become luminous and hydrated.

7 | DHC Olive Face Oil

Purpose | Oil

Price | $42 for 1 oz

Packaging | pump

Purchase Online at | Ulta . Dermstore . Skinstore . Amazon prime

This is another oil that I love for how quickly it sinks in.  This have given me the most glowing skin of my life.  I can not say enough nice things about this simple + pure oil.

I use this oil almost every night on my face neck and chest, and only occasionally on my hands, because it is pricier.

At night I will cover my face in this, pat extra under my eyes (after my eye cream), then neck, chest and if I’m feeling generous I’ll finish by slathering my hands before I hop into bed.
